In the past few months, reward practitioners have been a critical partner for business leaders who have been trying to balance keeping their businesses alive and the safety and wellbeing of their employees.  

The initial phase of the Coronavirus crisis was focused on implementing pay freezes and salary reductions in order to survive the recession, and prioritizing the mental and financial wellbeing of employees. The next phase will need to focus on business recovery, getting employees back to work safely, and adapting reward strategies to reflect new budgets and employee expectations.

Ruth Thomas has over 30 years of global HR and reward management experience. She is a Senior Consultant at CURO and is one of the company’s co-founders. Ruth is an expert in the management of compensation processes and the design of pay and benefit structures, salary progression systems and management incentive plans.

Ruth recently led the vision and development of CURO’s new pay equity solutions – a UK Gender Pay Gap reporting tool and a CURO Pay Equity Analysis Software.


John Grover

As Chief People Officer at Endsight, John is responsible for talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance, and traditional HR responsibilities such as benefits and payroll.

John received his MBA from the University of Phoenix and was recently accepted into Harvard Business School's Certificate of Management Excellence program. He is a lifelong learner, constantly aiming to expand his knowledge both inside and outside the classroom. In the last year, John has written over 60 articles about leadership, company values, and learning.

Evan is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, acting as a personal reward tutor / trainer for the Institute and World of Work Association respectively. He is also a Community Concept Advisor for the International WELL Building Institute.

Angela has extensive experience in partnering with CEOs and Boards, global change and transformation, as well as leadership and membership of remuneration, audit and nominations committees.  She is also a Fellow of the CIPD; the IOD, and the ILM.  Angela has won awards for her work on diversity and inclusion, change and transformation and brand impact.

Some of Angela's previous roles include Chief People Officer and Director of Business Effectiveness at British Airways, Group People Director at Which?, and Group HR Director for Sodexo.
